  I need a show of hands: who believes the Bible and to what extent?

  i'll start off.. i don't believe anything is divine about bible writings.

  i believe there may be some marginal history although not much.

  i think alot of folk tales and regional myths are contained in the old testament.

  Does anyone know how long food lasts in cans ?

  Not long enough given the time the WTS has been waiting for the Four Horsemen to show up. The GB are wondering if they missed their bus or something.

  The smart End Time theorist (those who don't believe they'll be swept up into heaven in the Rapture, or those who don't believe they'll be "taken care of" while they gather up all the rotting, bird-pecked bodies as part of the Great Holy Cleanup) is stocking freeze dried stuff. That and whiskey. Never goes bad.

  There are most definitely elements of truth in the Bible, otherwise it would not be credible at all, even to the gullible. But I might liken those elements of truth to the undigested kernels of corn one might see in feces - they're still edible, but I'm not too interested in picking them out before I flush it all down the toilet where it belongs.

  i am not ready to "out" myself just yet.

  i don't know how to act when they are there.

  i woke up today a right grumpy basket case.... not a good day for the jehovah's witness to call on me to do there usual shepherding call, bringing me the usual mags of shite!

  i stood there on the doorstep in my pj's, care free and all fired up.

  i was asked how i was doing & then informed that they had my latest mags.

Do you think there were no people who waited in vain for Armageddon during Russell's tenure, giving up children, education and careers because the End was just around the corner but never came?   i know of someone that has made no bones about being somewhat unhappily married.

  they got married because they "fooled around" and felt it was the "right thing to do".. i wonder how many people are unhappily married?

  I wonder sometimes about people who enter into what they believe will be a lifelong relationship with someone only to realise years later they've made a mistake - or, maybe the person they think they married has either changed into someone else or had kept private his true self from the beginning. And at some point the chickens come home to roost. It's not easy finding someone with whom you want to spend your life. When he or she turns out to be the wrong one, it must be a diminishing, if not devastating, experience.

  A Russell apologist. How many people forfeited their lives to the ideals of this man? It may be logical he has been falsely accused of some things just because we have a tendency to blame the bad guy for even more harm than he has actually done. He is by no means an innocent.
